Tennis Elbow


MYTH

  • You can only get pain from playing tennis

  • Movin your elbow will make the pain worse


FACT

  • Pain is usually due to your wrist muscles

  • Physiotherapy is more effective that a cortisone injection

  • Pain can be referred from the neck, shoulder or elbow joint

  • Tennis elbow is most common in the dominant arm

  • It is more common in people 35 -54 years old

  • The average duration if 6 months to 2 years

  • Recurrence rates range between 33-50% after 18 months
