FAQs

Physiotherapists will help you recover from all injuries. We will reduce pain and stiffness from joint and muscle problems, increase mobility and prevent further injury. This is possible after a thorough assessment, a diagnosis being made and explained to you, followed by a treatment plan implemented to fix your problem.
No. You do not need a referral from your G.P to see a Physiotherapist. The only time a referral is required is if your account is being paid for by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) or you are under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan. Under an EPC plan, up to five (5) sessions per calendar year are partly covered by Medicare.
Yes, physiotherapy consultations are partly covered if you have extras cover that cover Physiotherapy. The amount you get back depends on the fund you are with and the level of cover you have. There are ways for us to help you determine the amount of your rebate.
Yes, but only if you are referred by your doctor through the federal government’s Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan. Up to five (5) sessions per calendar year are partly covered by Medicare upon completion of an EPC Plan by your G.P.
Your initial session will be for at least 30 minutes where your problem will be fully assessed, and a diagnosis made. This will be thoroughly explained to you and treatment to fix your problem will be started with the formulation of a treatment plan.
Yes, Symmetry Physiotherapy offers the full suite of allied health services. These include: Hydrotherapy, Pilates rehabilitation, Massage Therapy, Spinal Management, Dry Needling, Podiatry, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Psychology and Hand Therapy.
Yes, please bring along any scans or tests you have had in relation to your injury. This will allow your practitioner to fully assess your injury and give you the best advice on recovery.
This will depend on the type of treatment you are receiving. Generally, we recommend loose, comfortable clothing that will not restrict movement.
We accept cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard and EFTPOS and payment must be made on the day. If you have Private Health Insurance with extras, we can process your card through Hicaps on the day, so you are only required to pay the gap. If you are under an EPC plan from your GP, you will need to bring your Medicare Card.
