Graduated from University of Southampton England in 1998, beginning a career at a London hospital. I had exposure to a diverse patient population and including at this time was a unique opportunity to work with West End musical performers.

In 2001, I relocated to Australia and joined Freemasons Hospital (now Epworth Hospital), where responsibilities included managing the ICU and a mixed case loads on the wards. This role provided a comprehensive understanding of acute care and complex patient management.

In late 2002, I transitioned to private practice by joining Physiowest. Over the past 22 years at Physiowest I specialised in managing musculoskeletal conditions, developing advanced skills and expertise in this area. In addition to private practice, I worked as a physiotherapist for Melbourne Knights in the NSL, gaining valuable experience in sports physiotherapy.

Over the last 20 years I have dedicated significant time in community service, conducting home visits to manage a varied case load. This included treating patients with musculoskeletal, respiratory and neurological conditions, demonstrating a commitment to providing comprehensive care across different settings.

Michael’s passion for physiotherapy began with his lifelong involvement in soccer, which he has played since the age of eight. Initially drawn by his interest in sporting injuries, Michael soon discovered the profound impact that physiotherapy can have beyond the athletic population. A defining moment in his career was helping a stroke patient progress from being bed-bound to taking their first step in hospital, a transformation that reaffirmed his passion in the industry.

Michael enjoys treating a range of musculoskeletal injuries. He believes that successful physiotherapy lies not just in applying the most up-to-date and evidence-based treatment but in forming genuine connections with patients. Michael’s experience is extensive and diverse across both private practice and hospital settings. He has previously worked in strength and conditioning with NPL (soccer) athletes, treated neurological and post-surgical patients, and managed various musculoskeletal injuries.
