Get to know the Symmetry Physiotherapy team. Our specialists from Altona Meadows have physiotherapy, myotherapy and clinical rehab / pilates expertise honed by their extensive training and experience.

Tyron Saunders

Tyron graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2011. Throughout his degree, Tyron gained valuable experience in both the public and private health sectors, as well as two specialised units within the Western Bulldogs Football Club and The Australian Baseball League.

Tyrons’ strong interest in sporting injuries has led to him being the team Physio for Williamstown Football Club in the VFL and also consulting Physio for Baseball Victoria Development Academy. Ty has also enjoyed being involved with local footy and athletics clubs.

Tyron has developed an interest in treating shoulder and knee injuries where he has regular contact with specialists to gain excellent rehabilitation outcomes. Tyron is currently practising at our Altona meadows and Tarneit clinics where he also completes musculoskeletal screening and Pilates assessments.

Tyron conducts Pilates Assessments for various injuries and then tailors specific programs to the individuals goals and needs which is beneficial for strengthening, conditioning and injury rehabilitation.

Outside of work Tyron has completed his first Melbourne Ironman and is keen on finishing a couple of Marathons.

Manjot Jassal

Manjot graduated from La Trobe University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Physiotherapy having completed his degree in Albury-Wodonga and Bendigo. Manjot has experienced a wide array of presentations ranging from rehabilitative orthopaedics to chronic pain. Throughout his degree, Manjot gained valuable clinical and non-clinical skills across metropolitan and regional Victoria ranging from Mildura to Ballarat

Practicing at our Altona Meadows and Tarneit clinics, Manjot has a strong and enthusiastic interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. Manjot adopts a holistic approach and focuses on patient specific goals to achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes for his clients.

Hailing from Melbourne, Manjot has a keen interest in sports having provided services to various metropolitan rugby teams, country AFL teams and currently consults members of the Australian Powerlifting club. Manjot is one of the Physio’s for the Melbourne Rebels Rugby Union Junior Gold Cup elite development squad where he works with experienced strength and conditioning coaches and physiotherapists gaining knowledge in the field of sports.

Outside of work, Manjot is a competitive powerlifter with the sight of representing Australia in upcoming national and international Powerlifting competitions. Manjot is fluent in speaking Hindi and Punjabi and regularly partakes in cultural events including preforming as part of a cultural Bhangra dance team.

Emily Cousins
Physiotherapy/Exercise Physiology

Emily graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2015 from the University of Melbourne, and with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology in 2008 from UNSW.

Having grown up in the world of dance and competitive sport, Emily has always had a special interest in sports physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation. She is currently completing further studies in Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and has been the a physiotherapist at various local,  VFL and VFLW clubs over the years.

Emily also has a keen interest in the treatment and management of paediatric conditions and injuries, clinical Pilates and managing pre/post natal musculoskeletal conditions.

As an accredited Exercise Physiologist, Emily is passionate about physical activity and the power of exercise in the management of musculoskeletal and systemic chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, chronic fatigue and cancer.

In addition to practicing as a Physiotherapist and accredited Exercise Physiologist at Symmetry Altona Meadows, Emily also provides acute orthopaedic physiotherapy services at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne. Emily is originally from Sydney but she much prefers Melbourne Coffee! Emily continues to participate in Touch Football and Netball.

Paula Pappalardo

Paula graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice from La Trobe University Bundoora in 2017. She gained experience working with a range of patients in hospitals and community health centres who were suffering with acute and chronic conditions. To enhance her experience, Paula worked with Sporting Academies and VAFA teams, which enhanced her skills in assessment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries.

Paula has a strong interest in optimising performance in athletes and in providing quality rehabilitation to the general population. She adopts a holistic approach and creates a nurturing environment where patients can confidently achieve good outcomes. Paula is a passionate athlete, whose interest in completing marathons, led her to further studies on running biomechanics. She has built valuable knowledge on how to prevent and rehabilitate running-related injuries, such as patellofemoral pain and iliotibial band syndrome. Paula is also trained in Clinical Pilates and Strength and Conditioning coaching.

In her spare time, Paula enjoys staying active with tennis, running and Pilates. She is currently training for her next marathon.

Matt Delaney

Matt graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2018 after having completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Melbourne University. Matt has developed a passion for the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and sporting injuries in the general population as well as athletes. Matt adopts a holistic, client-centred approach to clinical practice and tailors programs to suit the individual patient. In his clinical approach, he focuses on creating a supportive and productive environment in order to provide the best care for the patient and their treatment journey.

Matt has a strong interest in sport and supporting athletes in their rehabilitation. During his time in NSW, he has been involved with the Newcastle Knights Juniors and Newcastle Jets Youth Teams, facilitating training and rehabilitation programs for young athletes. Matt is now working for Williamstown Football club in the VFL and has his Dry Needling qualification. Matt has a particular interest in injuries of the knee and shoulder and it is a professional focus area for him. Matt is currently practicing at the Altona Meadows and Tarneit clinics.

Matt is a fitness enthusiast and sports fan outside of clinic hours. He is a strong supporter of the Richmond Tigers AFL Team and he regularly participates in CrossFit competitions. It is a personal goal to complete a half Ironman towards the end of 2019

Eliza Roughead

Eliza graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master Physiotherapy Practice in 2018. Originaly from country Victoria she grew up playing many sports including basketball and netball at a regional and state level. This has lead to a passion for sport, treating sporting injuries and enhancing athletic performance. She enjoys playing netball, AFL and running.

Whilst involved in sport she has worked with Marcellin Old Collegians in the VAFA football league and Melbourne Victory Women’s Soccer Team. Throughout university she developed specialised interest in treating various acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and paediatrics. 

She has completed placements throughout Melbourne, regional Victoria and overseas in both India and Vietnam. She has a strong passion for working with Athletes and the general population with a focus on client centred practice and working with the individual to achieve their goals.

Tristan Davies

Tristan graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy in 2019, following a Bachelor of Sport Science degree at Victoria University. Throughout his studies, Tristan has gained clinical experience working with a wide variety of patients within Sydney’s major public hospitals and private practices, with which he has developed a well rounded understanding of patient specific rehabilitation.

In addition to his clinical placements, Tristan has been involved with both the Oztag State Cup and Sydney Uni rugby union teams, assisting with various rehabilitation programs and acute sporting injuries. He is passionate about adopting a holistic approach to health and returning to function for both sporting and non-sporting patient populations.

Tristan has personal experience as a semi-professional athlete, playing state league football for Williamstown (VFL) and Sydney University (NEAFL) over the past six years, which complements his theoretical knowledge of the physical demands of high level sport.

Mark Staniec


Mark, a western suburbs local, completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Albury/Wodonga, graduating in 2019. Mark’s dedication to Physiotherapy has been reflected in his academic success, being awarded with a Executive Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Mark’s history of playing competitive basketball sparked his passion for Physiotherapy, and he has a deep understanding of a client’s perspective on needs and expectations during the rehabilitation process.

Clinically he has a keen focus on facilitating rehabilitation and injury prevention by prescribing therapeutic exercise. It is important to Mark to promote evidence based treatment, allowing his clients to get the most from his programs. He is planning on completing some additional training in Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy to further his musculoskeletal skills.

Outside of the treatment room, you will find Mark shooting hoops, kayaking or riding a motorbike – depending on the weather.

Ally Dean

Ally graduated in 2014 with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy from the Australian College of Sports Therapy and works with the Symmetry Physiotherapy team at Altona Meadows and Hoppers Crossing Clinics.

Throughout her time studying Ally has gained significant experience at Williamstown Football Club in the VFL, as the lead myotherapist and with a variety of clubs within the WRFL. This has allowed Ally to work one on one, on and off the field with the footballers and fellow health and fitness staff.

Ally has a keen interest in the management of headaches and chronic back pain. She has also gained a lot of experience in dry needling, cupping and the management of sports related injuries.
