Get to know the Symmetry Physiotherapy team. Our specialists from Altona Meadows have physiotherapy, myotherapy and clinical rehab / pilates expertise honed by their extensive training and experience.
Tyron graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2011. Throughout his degree, Tyron gained valuable experience in both the public and private health sectors, as well as two specialised units within the Western Bulldogs Football Club and The Australian Baseball League.
Tyrons’ strong interest in sporting injuries has led to him being the team Physio for Williamstown Football Club in the VFL and also consulting Physio for Baseball Victoria Development Academy. Ty has also enjoyed being involved with local footy and athletics clubs.
Tyron has developed an interest in treating shoulder and knee injuries where he has regular contact with specialists to gain excellent rehabilitation outcomes. Tyron is currently practising at our Altona meadows and Tarneit clinics where he also completes musculoskeletal screening and Pilates assessments.
Tyron conducts Pilates Assessments for various injuries and then tailors specific programs to the individuals goals and needs which is beneficial for strengthening, conditioning and injury rehabilitation.
Outside of work Tyron has completed his first Melbourne Ironman and is keen on finishing a couple of Marathons.
Matt graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2018 after having completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Melbourne University. Matt has developed a passion for the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and sporting injuries in the general population as well as athletes. Matt adopts a holistic, client-centred approach to clinical practice and tailors programs to suit the individual patient. In his clinical approach, he focuses on creating a supportive and productive environment in order to provide the best care for the patient and their treatment journey.
Matt has a strong interest in sport and supporting athletes in their rehabilitation. During his time in NSW, he has been involved with the Newcastle Knights Juniors and Newcastle Jets Youth Teams, facilitating training and rehabilitation programs for young athletes. Matt is now working for Williamstown Football club in the VFL and has his Dry Needling qualification. Matt has a particular interest in injuries of the knee and shoulder and it is a professional focus area for him. Matt is currently practicing at the Altona Meadows and Tarneit clinics.
Matt is a fitness enthusiast and sports fan outside of clinic hours. He is a strong supporter of the Richmond Tigers AFL Team and he regularly participates in CrossFit competitions. It is a personal goal to complete a half Ironman towards the end of 2019
Eliza graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master Physiotherapy Practice in 2018. Originaly from country Victoria she grew up playing many sports including basketball and netball at a regional and state level. This has lead to a passion for sport, treating sporting injuries and enhancing athletic performance. She enjoys playing netball, AFL and running.
Whilst involved in sport she has worked with Marcellin Old Collegians in the VAFA football league and Melbourne Victory Women’s Soccer Team. Throughout university she developed specialised interest in treating various acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and paediatrics.
She has completed placements throughout Melbourne, regional Victoria and overseas in both India and Vietnam. She has a strong passion for working with Athletes and the general population with a focus on client centred practice and working with the individual to achieve their goals.
Tristan graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy in 2019, following a Bachelor of Sport Science degree at Victoria University. Throughout his studies, Tristan has gained clinical experience working with a wide variety of patients within Sydney’s major public hospitals and private practices, with which he has developed a well rounded understanding of patient specific rehabilitation.
In addition to his clinical placements, Tristan has been involved with both the Oztag State Cup and Sydney Uni rugby union teams, assisting with various rehabilitation programs and acute sporting injuries. He is passionate about adopting a holistic approach to health and returning to function for both sporting and non-sporting patient populations.
Tristan has personal experience as a semi-professional athlete, playing state league football for Williamstown (VFL) and Sydney University (NEAFL) over the past six years, which complements his theoretical knowledge of the physical demands of high level sport.
Mark, a western suburbs local, completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Albury/Wodonga, graduating in 2019. Mark’s dedication to Physiotherapy has been reflected in his academic success, being awarded with a Executive Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.
Mark’s history of playing competitive basketball sparked his passion for Physiotherapy, and he has a deep understanding of a client’s perspective on needs and expectations during the rehabilitation process.
Clinically he has a keen focus on facilitating rehabilitation and injury prevention by prescribing therapeutic exercise. It is important to Mark to promote evidence based treatment, allowing his clients to get the most from his programs. He is planning on completing some additional training in Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy to further his musculoskeletal skills.
Outside of the treatment room, you will find Mark shooting hoops, kayaking or riding a motorbike – depending on the weather.
Carleigh graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Physiotherapy Practice. Carleigh has also undertaken further training in Clinical Pilates.
Carleigh enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals in a collaborative manner. She believes in utilizing a combination of hands on treatment and a targeted active rehabilitation approach to achieve lasting effects.
Carleigh has experience working with local Aussie Rules Football clubs in both men’s and women’s teams which has enhanced her understanding of management of acute injuries and long-term rehabilitation. Furthermore, Carleigh has gained an appreciation for sports specific body awareness and movement control throughout her many years of dance training.
Emma graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Health Science and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at ACU. Emma has a strong passion for sport, which has been demonstrated through her continued participation in competitive football (AFL) and netball, which motivated her to become a physiotherapist. Emma has worked with both local and elite sporting clubs, including Carlton’s reserves side in the VFL (previously known as Northern Blues Football Club) and Sandringham Dragon’s Under 18 Girl’s side in the then known TAC Cup. Her continued participation in the sporting environment has led Emma to gain further qualifications as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Throughout her studies, Emma gained invaluable clinical experience with a wide variety of patients in both metropolitan Melbourne and country Victoria. During this time, Emma developed an interest in Women’s health and the rehabilitation of sporting injuries, in particular knee and shoulder injuries. Emma places a great emphasis on exercise as a rehabilitation tool and uses this in conjunction with other treatment techniques to achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes for her clients. Emma enjoys working with both the general population and athletes to achieve their goals and get them back to their sport and/or everyday life.
Maria graduated from a Doctor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Sport Science. Maria’s history of playing competitive soccer and experience working along-side professional sporting teams including Melbourne Storm, Northern Blues and FFV developed her passion and knowledge of musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. Throughout her studies, she has gained valuable experience working as a personal trainer, utilising exercise to empower women to reach their goals. Outside of private practice, Maria enjoys powerlifting and martial arts.
‘Adie’ is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Elite Performance Coach and Rehabilitation Specialist with over 20 years’ experience working with athletes, coaches and managers ranging from a variety of sports, athletes, martial arts, dance professionals, state and national athletes, corporate clients, high-profile clientele and the general public.
He develops specific rehabilitation and chronic disease training programs, sport specific training techniques, elite training sessions and specific educational programs for a huge variety of sports, coached and athletes Australia wide.
Adie is dedicated to helping as many people as possible with their health to enable them to live their best lives. Specialising in Chronis Disease management, injury, nutrition and recovery methods.
Adrian offers training workshops to individuals, gym members, athletes, fitness professionals and sporting clubs. Providing the opportunity for all to learn from one of Australia’s leading fitness, health, performance and training professionals.
Jessee graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Dietetic practice in 2019 and a Bachelor of Human Nutrition with honours in 2017. Jessee is an accredited practicing dietitian is passionate about helping clients build a healthy relationship with food while working together to improve their health and overall wellbeing. She focuses on working as a team to assist them in achieving their nutrition goals.
In her spare time you will find her in a muay thai gym or at a weekend market with a coffee in hand. In commencing a new sport this year, Jessee has developed an interest in the importance of nutrition pre and post exercise.
She has experience working as a clinical dietitian working in Regional Victorian hospital on the surgical ward managing conditions such as malnutrition, gastrointestinal disorders, wound healing, high output stomas, chronic conditions and more.
Completing her placements in Melbourne, Bendigo and Werribee, she gained experience working with people with chronic disease conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, gestational diabetes and providing advice on general healthy eating.
Ally graduated in 2014 with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy from the Australian College of Sports Therapy and works with the Symmetry Physiotherapy team at Altona Meadows and Hoppers Crossing Clinics.
Throughout her time studying Ally has gained significant experience at Williamstown Football Club in the VFL, as the lead myotherapist and with a variety of clubs within the WRFL. This has allowed Ally to work one on one, on and off the field with the footballers and fellow health and fitness staff.
Ally has a keen interest in the management of headaches and chronic back pain. She has also gained a lot of experience in dry needling, cupping and the management of sports related injuries.
