Symmetry-Physiotherapy-Clinical-Rehab-ClassClinical Rehab is a low impact form of exercise aimed at strengthening or stabilising the ‘core’ muscles of the body. It predominantly uses the lower abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to offer the following benefits:

  • Protection of the joints in the lower back by strengthening the ‘core’ muscles
  • Decrease in pain
  • Improved body awareness and control
  • Improved posture
  • Relaxation – Clinical Rehab also focuses on breathing
  • Increased confidence with movement – Often a subtle re-introduction to movement for those who haven’t exercised for a period.

Clinical Rehab classes at Symmetry Physiotherapy have up to 4 participants. Our classes run for 45 minutes and supervised by a physiotherapist. Exercises include a combination of mat work, reformer, wonderchair and pulley exercises to work towards your personal goals. We require an initial assessment, conducted with our physiotherapists will before beginning your classes. During this one-on-one session we will identify weaknesses, establish goals and ensure exercises are appropriate based on your pathology/exercise history. We will tailor an individual program to your specific needs. We highly recommend this if you are carrying an injury or have specific goals.

Multiple classes are available to suit your needs. Rebates are available for participants with private health insurance plus extras. (Please check with your health fund for confirmation). Bookings are essential.

We require you to attend an initial 40 minute assessment and 40 minute 1 on 1 session before starting Clinical Rehab sessions.
